What is the truth?

I stood in my driveway and looked up into the hot summer night sky. A breeze stirred in the background, but not enough to relieve the oppressive heat. Stars twinkled and the sky was active with planes coming and going from an airfield a few miles away. As I looked up I had to blink, wipe my eyes and look again. What I saw was still there and it looked like the outline of a door; and it was huge! I chalked it up to my imagination and my failing eyesight, but as I turned to walk into my home, I saw what appeared to be a hand move across the door from behind. I went into the house thinking about what I saw.
I heard footsteps upstairs and thought that my teenaged son must be home with friends. Just as I went to call him, I heard a voice call my name; it was so clear I thought someone was in the next room but there wasn't. I called his name, which was the same as mine and my mind raced back to the voice that called me. Could my voice have been thrown seconds into the future or was there someone or something calling my name from a distance both far and near. When he didn't respond I walked up the stairs thinking he may be up to some shenanigans. I searched each room only to realize that noone else was home, and thought I may have heard footsteps from next door. Nah! No super hearing here. The hairs on my neck and arms literally raised as though subject to static electricity and something made me go back down stairs and out the door. I looked up into the sky in the same spot I viewed a few minutes earlier and saw a shadowy image of a hand move across the sky then disappear. Curious, but what the heck was going on? I continued to stare at the same area of the sky for a few minutes longer, waiting and hoping to see something more, but I guess the show was over as nothing new happened. What was I seeing and what did I hear? I thought about a few things I read as a teen...
The Bhagavad Gita VII:7 "All the worlds have their rest in me, as many pearls strung on a string."
Pythagoras divided the universe into three parts, the Supreme World, the Superior World, and the Inferior
It is also written in the Christian bible (I may be stretching here, but I always thought this referred to other worlds), John 10:16 Jesus said, " And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold..."
Well, you get the gist. I am not the first person to think there might be some other world or worlds above ours, but not physically. There may be worlds that vibrate at different tempos than ours; some higher vibrations some lesser, but all different.
In physics there is something called the String theory, and a component of that requires there to be multiple dimensions in order for the majority of the theory to prove true.
Are there parallel worlds, alternate dimensions, super worlds, higher realms, and lower realms? Have we been visited by beings from other dimensions and are we still being visited by them? Does this explain the existence of gods, devils, pixies, brownies and other sitings and beliefs? Can this account for all the people who have disappeared throughout time? So many questions and it is possible that the validity of this theory can account for many mysteries.
How many of you have experienced such things? How many know of others that have their own tales? What do you think of this theory and philosophy?
